1st Third Space Bucharest social event launch š„³
featuring pics from party
Wanna hear about the different kind of party I hosted?
There are lots of conferences, networking, dating and dinner with strangers type events in Bucharest. I am not crazy about them. When I first moved here from Texas, I went to a few meetups and also tried meeting others in expat groups. But for some reason, these events werenāt that appealing. You end up chatting with one or two people the whole time about something that doesnāt event interest you. So, I thought why not create my own kind of social event. What if I combined a couple of things I like and create space that allows people to be seen, heard and have the opportunity to meet new people?
Picture thisā¦..interesting strangers welcomed in a relaxed atmosphere. But instead of feeling like they have to perform or network, a host is there to lead everyone in easy conversation. Group icebreakers are introduced so instead of just talking to one or two people the whole night, you end up getting to know 7 to 10 people. But thatās not allā¦
One of the things I enjoy are Tedx talks about interesting topics. So at the 3rd Space Bucharest social, people get a chance to hear mini Ted Talks about subjects like starting your own business or travel tips when going to Mexico. Cool huh?
These are the type of events I would love to attend. So, I am creating them.
We launched the first 3rd Space Bucharest event this past Monday and I plan on hosting an event every month. I must admit, these events are a little different than anything else.
Not networking.
Not dating.
No pitches.
Just a thoughtfully curated cocktail party for 25 interesting people who want to build real, in-person connections.
And look forward to our March 16th event that will feature 70s & 80s music and a lightning talk by Claudiu Antal who will share tips on how to be a digital nomad.

Genius.
My bosses in the States would have a heart attack if I said this. But I feel my European boss at Honeywell would be okay with it š
My son and I love this show
My son James, 8 years, is finally at the age where we can watch shows together that we like. And Physical Asia is one that we canāt get enough of.
Elite athletes from eight countries battle for national pride in various physical challenges. The competitions tests their raw strength and endurance - so good!
3rd Space Community - Raluca Popa
Raluca Popa is launching āOwn Your Mindā - an applied program in which you learn
strategies to manage mental pressure, reduce indoor noise, and make better decisions when the stakes are high. 7 weeks. Online. Group or 1:1. Book a discovery call here.
The End
Next week the kids are out of school again and weāre taking ski lessons ā·ļø. I am not worried about James as I can imagine him going 50 km down the mountain. Clara will probably get the hang of it. As for me, my goal is to not break any bones š
Have a great weekend,
Eric M.
P.S. If youāre in Romania and want me to feature a project you are working on, reply back and I might include it in the next newsletter.
